On May 27, 2026, M.T. Shamyrkanov, Head–Akim of the Chon-Alai District State Administration, inspected the repair work on the Ming-Jar Canal in Achyk-Suu village in accordance with an instruction from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
The Chon-Alai District Development Fund allocated 6,700,000 soms for the project. Excavation work is currently being carried out along a 6.5-kilometre section of the canal, while construction of the GVS dam is also actively underway.
Main objectives
- provide irrigation water to land that previously lacked a sufficient water supply;
- bring unused land into agricultural production;
- create favourable conditions for local farmers;
- increase the district’s agricultural potential;
- contribute to the area’s social and economic development.
